The Royal Hotel, Runswick Bay

We are a small pub in the heart of the village itself, which from every angle, at every time of year, is truly magnificent. In the summer months you can enjoy a traditional British holiday at the sea side!! Our sandy beach allows you to enjoy hours of fun building sand castles and with the Royal only being a stones throw away, you have the advantage of hot and cold food and a cool beer or two!

In the winter the bay becomes a romantic haven, perfect for those wanting some peace and tranquillity. The Royal has an open fire, perfect to huddle around after a days walk. We are also completely dog friendly so no need to leave your much loved pets at home.

Runswick bay has another advantage, in the summer months we have our very own rescue boat to insure your safety while on your holidays. The Runswick Bay Rescue Boat is a voluntary service and only survives from kind donations from people coming to the bay. We have a collection bottle in the pub, which would be gratefull of any donations to help keep the boat and its crew ready for action!!
